Linnea's Garden plays glam punk rock you can dance to. Since forming in 2020, they have toured New England, the Midwest and Southwest US, released four records, gotten airplay on SiriusXM, received a Boston Music Awards nomination for Punk Act of the Year, and partnered with One Condoms One Onstage Program. Their catchy, glitter-soaked subversion draws inspiration from '70s punk, riot grrrl, garage rock, and queercore, channeling artists like David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Blondie, Amyl and the Sniffers, and Slothrust. The Boston-based trio is led by Dr. Linnea Herzog on guitar/vocals, Hands on bass, and Super Tough Ray Clough on drums.
Linnea’s Garden’s debut EP “Nowhere Friday Nights,” released in March 2021, was born out of late night jam sessions that salvaged a pandemic summer. Drawing inspiration from ‘60s girl groups and ‘70s glam rock, the EP challenges listeners’ expectations with “consistently catchy and subversive takes on power pop and punk” (Allston Pudding).
In April 2022, Linnea’s Garden released their full-length album “Fashion Show” on Red on Red Records. It’s 13 “honest and electrifying” (Rock n’ Heavy) tracks of “disco dressed down in gutter glam (Boston Herald), a “classic in the making” (WoNoBlog) “just waiting to erupt on a dance floor” (If It’s Too Loud). The single “Cut & Paste” was one of Bill Kelly’s Personal Picks on Little Steven’s Coolest Songs in the World on SiriusXM, and Linnea’s Garden received Boston and New England Music Awards nominations for Punk Act of the Year in 2022.
Linnea’s Garden released their “Mirrors” EP in November 2023. The lead single “Comeback” celebrates a joyous return to live shows and the music video directed by Natalie Peracchio was an official selection of Grrl Haus Cinema 2023. “Pathological Liar,” the second single, is a pop-punk banger about how sometimes the right relationship - and your best life - is hiding in plain sight. The queer joy-filled video was the band’s second collaboration with Carissa Johnson, who contributed bass and vocals on “In The City,” a dance-rock song that explores the freedom of finding yourself in a new place.
Linnea’s Garden’s newest EP, Looking forward to the moment, was released on November 14, 2024. It’s a celebration of life for the places that didn’t last, and what it means to find oneself after surviving it all. The band embarked on their first larger Midwest tour following the release of lead single “Chaotic Bisexual Summer,” and released music videos for each of the EP’s five tracks, culminating in an EP release mini-tour in New England and Spring 2025 Desert Garden Tour of the Southwest US.
“Chaotic Bisexual Summer (Chaos Mix)” was released on June 20, 2025, bringing the Linnea’s Garden story full circle with frequent collaborator/producer Temp Rec (Tom O’Donnell). The new remix kicks off another Midwest tour for the band, which will end in the place Linnea’s Garden frequently finds themselves: in the studio, recording new music for the next evolution.
